Knowing and understanding the English language gives you many advantages as a professional and I as an electrical technician is not the exception. One of these advantages is that I will have the potential to read and understand physics and mathematics books in English. Not only to learn physics and mathematics also able to recognize materials and electrical devices or electronic machines. I can recognize any tecnological device and understand this instructions, name and its use. I will have the capacity to research in books in english and distinguish the diferent characteristics of the materials. And most important is to have the ability to speak the English language to find a good job and this will make my resume going to be more complete and attractive, so i will be able to work in an international company and I can have conversations with people that speak English. All of the above makes beautiful use of English in the Electrical technology.

How will i use English as an electric technician?, that's a question that I´ve been asking to myself. Somehow I think that in a future I will use English to: first of all reading the instructions of some programs or equipments; I will also have to read email from co-workers taht live in other countries, like United States or England. Second: I will surely use it to speak in electric technician events that my company sends me to, additionally I will also have to use it to speak finally I will have to say that I will use English ins some situations, like if my company sends me to an American electric company, or if I work in a factory, maybe an equipmentgets broken and I have to fix it, but the instructions of the equipment are only in English. That's the way I think I will use English as an electric technician.

English is the most important language in the world and is a universal language. The electrical thecnician has a wide field of work because they can work in companies in the electric area and be productive national and international. Their work is linked to the progress of the technology currently progressing in the country. The electrical technician who has good command of the english language can communicate much better with people from abroad who also speak it. In this profession, I believe that speaking english is a way to pass the limits not only because you can communicate with people in your work but also with people outside it. For example: If I get to work in a Chinese automobile industry and I do not speak Chinese because it is very difficult still they hire me because I speak english. In the Chinese automotive industry, I would have the responsibility to verify the distribution of the electric car when it is assembled and presented to me the problem with an electrical generator that is not installed correctly. I would, to make a change and comment on the installation again in english because we will not speak in another language other than english.

Yes Wendy...even if you work for a Chinese company and do not speak Chinese, they would hire you for sure because you will be bilingual and will be able to communicate not only in Spanish but also in English. Also, while you are working in the Chinese company I'm sure they will arrange for Chinese lessons for you :)

The English language is very important and necessary in any professional field, including the electric technology. I consider that as an electric technician in the future, I will use many skills of English. Between these skills meets reflected reading since some electrics devices manuals are in English and I need understand them to operate all electric machines. For example, I would need to use English if my day to day work is in a electric industry and I have to make an electric installation or repair it so that, I would need to read many manuals in English to learn as can I make it. Also, speaking and listening when my future job is abroad and I have to communicate with the people, relate with them however, to speak without to listen can’t be possible is necessary can be able of use together in case of communication between the English language. For example, if my job is in an American electric industry and I have to fix a electric equipment with a partner but he don’t speak Spanish only English, I would need a talk with him for to consult his opinion about the problem then, there I would use speaking and listening for talk with and can understand him respectively for solution the problem
Generally, why have we use English in electric technology?.. I think because we need become in an excellent electric technicians and English is one of tools to achieve it since one of best technology is from United so that, we should use English if we want know more about ourselves profession, but this question and answer stays to the criterion of you.

The electrician their field of work and the English language
I think an electrician needs to know the English language in all its areas: reading, writing, speech and hearing.
Because of that already in the workplace can be presented various situations such as:
1) That a manual of whatever thing was in English.
2) Being chosen by a company as a representative of the same in another country.
I can say (from experience) that is quite uncomfortable not handle this language in a company. On one occasion while toward internships to graduate from hi school. the company was visited for a boss of Israel, for supervised and monitored what we were doing there, but when giving orders or trying to communicate with me i can't understand him very well and it was quite embarrassing because I had to call my supervisor for translated what he said.
For this and many reasons I think just the fact of belonging to an international company is necessary that I, such as a good professional, comprehend very well the English language in all those aspects.
Jonatan, you must have had a hard time with that person from Israel.
Your experience in that company is an excellent example of why we should be bilingual if we intend to work in an international corporation.

For me is necessary for many reasons: like the understanding of electrical books and programs that are only edited English, to keep my actualized with the world activity and then improve my profession. To expand my job area on countries were English is spoke and talk with people of many nations specially in Europe and the U.S.A. To obtain more profits from my profession and more better money from my job.

Well Orlando hi I'm not saying that what you wrote is wrong because you're right we really need it to speak with foreign people and to read everything in English. But we also need it to other field works, like writing, for example: your boss tells you that you have to do a letter to the major leagues of the company, but the problem is that they only speak English, so you are obligated to write a letter in English. And you have to think that is not only for money, you will have to many things if you used the English language in your life. Thanks for listening...
In my opinion, English is important in the profession of Electronics because is important in the use of technical computer science in my work. I need to have knowledge of this language for be successuful in muy job.For example: in my work when have communication with my colleagues and need to speak with them of the planning of the work. Also I will like to travel around the world and work in the United States, where predominant of the language is English.
