Forum 1 - International Trade & Business

W3 - Writing Activity 3 - Forum
- Go to the forum that corresponds to the major you are pursuing.
- There are three forums:
-Forum 1 - International trade & Business
-Forum 2 - Electronic Technology
-Forum 3 - Electric Technology
- Participate and give your personal opinion on the topic.
- Make sure you address the forum question directly. Elaborate, but be specific.
- Entries should contain at least 10 sentences. (±120 words).
- Prepare your entry in Word and then copy/paste it onto the forum posting.
- Check your spelling and grammar before you post it.
- Don’t forget to identify your post like this Sec_FullName.
- Forum closes on Sunday, November 30.
- Value points 5.
Prepare a Tree Diagram and a draft of your participation and bring it to class on Thursday 20. (This will account for 1 point of the total value of this activity.)
BONUS: Students who participate twice and comment (agree/disagree) on their classmates opinions will get 1 extra point. (Providing their comments contribute to the forum discussion.)

This activity’s point value is 5.
Timelines
Timelines can be Linear or Comparative:
- A linear timeline shows a picture of events as they occurred in a certain period of time. Use a linear timeline for one subject and time frame. A linear timeline can be written horizontally or vertically.
- A comparative timeline shows two or more subject areas which occurred at the same time; it shows readers the "big picture." A comparative timeline might compare historical events in two or more countries or compare two or more subjects.

Oral Presentation Guidelines

For week 11, you have to prepare a brief team oral presentation related to the contents of the units studied in class. This activity’s value point is 10.
Following are some guidelines for the presentation and the evaluation criteria.
- Each team will have 15-18 minutes for their presentation.
- Teams must prepare a PPT slide show or a handout for the rest of the class.
- Topics are: Dreams and Plans (Unit 7), A national/international hero (Unit 8), The meaning of dreams (Unit 9, Early memories (Unit 9).
- Each team must send me their visual aids and general organization plan before the presentation.
- Evaluation Criteria:
Team work: Organization, time frame, visual aids and content (4 pts.).
Individual work: Facial expression, posture, enthusiasm, pauses,
clarity of speech, fluency (6 pts.).
- Detailed guidelines were sent to you by email. Please print them out and bring to class on Tuesday 4.
